CREATING A COMMUNITY.
Although there are some supports in place for widowed people, young widowed parents are in a category of their own. Participating in other groups for spouse/partner loss can be uncomfortable, as they are mostly comprised of older adults in different stages of life.

Young widowhood and solo parenting presents unique challenges with a specific set of needs that go largely unmet. Their circumstances are painfully isolating, and they experience a multitude of secondary losses which often include their social circles. The isolation is devastating for them as well as their children, and can significantly impact parenting. It's time to bring these people together and create a community of support.
